As we entered the midway of the MCO, not just the business is having trouble but even the Zoo Negara is in big trouble.
As per NST that Zoo Negara is desperately in need of more visitors and also sponsors, especially for the Malayan tigers, in order to cover the operation cost and expansion of the national zoo.
There has been a movement control thus visitors to Zoo Negara has been significant reduced. As the Zoo Negara is a NGO (non-government organization) thus they depends on donations and tickets sales to cover their operating costs.
If you didn’t know that in order to take care of its tigers, the zoo needed RM500,000 a year as per revealed by the Zoo Negara Malaysia deputy president Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana. In case you wondering how come other country zoo is so big and Malaysia is not moving this is due to huge amount of spending every month which means that the zoo does not have enough funds for expansion to become a facility of education, conservation, and scientific research.
So in order to make things running, they are coming up with an adoption program where you can opt to join in to adopt an animal and help the animal, Zoo Negara to finance for their expense.
