Good news for us consumer as TNB subsidiary, City Broadband, has officially launched the fiber broadband package where you can get a broadband installed with just RM79 per month!
City Broadband (which was the initial name of SHTech) has launched their broadband plan starting off at Jasin Melaka and to be spread across the countries later.
They are offering 50Mbps broadband for as low as RM79/month and you can upgrade the speed and get up to 1Gbps speeds for less than RM200/month. If you need the full package of the broadband plan offer, you can see the below:
- 50Mbps – RM79/month
- 100Mbps – RM99/month
- 500Mbps – RM139/month
- 1Gbps – RM199/month
The interesting part of this plan is that unlike the other broadband plan, the upload and download speed are the same! If you’re subscribed to the 50Mbps plan, you will be getting 50Mbps upload and 50Mbps download speed.
The plans are tied with a 24-month contract and if you need a shorter plan, you can opt for a 12-month contract option but you are required to pay a one time charge of RM300.
If you compare this with other broadband company, the base 50Mbps plan at RM79/month is very affordable. Here is a quick comparison
- Celcom offers unlimited 40Mbps at RM80/month
- Unifi offers 30Mbps at RM79/month but with a limited 60GB quota.
