The Ministry of Higher Education launches the B40 Internet Data Support Program
The Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia (KPT) and YES telco jointly launched the B40 Internet Data Package Assistance Program (Bantuan Pelan Data B40), allowing college students from low-income families to receive assistance in the form of Sim cards or cash/coupons.
Due to the third wave of the epidemic in China, the Ministry of Higher Education decided to extend the timetable for college students to return to campus and allow college students to teach and learn online (PdP). In order to reduce the burden of the B40 low-income group, the Ministry of Higher Education will distribute Sim cards or cash/coupons to assist college students.
320,396 college students from low-income families will receive Sim cards or cash/coupons, of which 225,784 students will receive Sim cards, and the remaining 94,612 students will receive cash or coupons.
