RM1 Charges For Plastic Bag In Penang Starting January 2021
In order to curb the usage of plastic bags, Penang will start charging Rm1 plastic back to all customers in the retail store where this money will be used by the state government to fund environmental management. Which it is a good thing to do in order to educate more customers to use and get the habit of using recycled grocery bags or bring your own recycle bag when you are planning to do your grocery purchase.
The first startup of this plan will be Monday – Wednesday there will be no plastic bag given at shops, supermarkets or shopping centers now matter how much you are willing to pay, while these bags will only available on Thursday – Sundays for RM1 each.
