Nature Just Hit the Reset Button in Italy Due To Country Lockdown Over Covid-19

by Chan March 20, 2020

135470 - LifeStyle The suddenly clear waters of Venice canals and off the coast of a locked-down Italy. As Italy quarantines over coronavirus, swans appear in Venice canals, dolphins swim up playfully.

If you’re wondering, what would a world without humans look like? Here is a good testimonial where as Italy go under lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID–19, photos on social media suggest it might be a lot cleaner, for a start. As one observer put it, “Nature just hit the reset button.”

But as the Venice mayor’s office told CNN that while the canals might look clearer than before the lockdown, the water quality hasn’t necessarily improved.

“The water now looks clearer because there is less traffic on the canals, allowing the sediment to stay at the bottom,” a spokesman told CNN. “It’s because there is less [of the] boat traffic that usually brings sediment to the top of the water’s surface.”

Thought I’d spread abit of positivity for you guys. Since the lockdown of Venice without the pollution from boats the water has been begun to clear up and a dolphin has been spotted in the canal for the first time in nearly 60 years! #venice pic.twitter.com/dbq4mGhfnp

However one thing for sure is that the air is less polluted since there are less vaporetti and boat traffic than usual because of the restricted movement of residents, one of the spokesman said, referring to the public waterbus, the Vaporetto.

So what do you think? At least nature has return with this lockdown of the country which is not a bad condition from Covid-19
