As we all know, starting from 1st Jan 2019, smoking is banned in all eatery place. Which includes hawker stall, kopitiam, mamak and gastro pub. Those place that you can eat then you are prohibited to smoke. If you wish to smoke you must be 3m away from the eatery place.
It’s a good thing and a bad thing. Depending how you see it. For smoker, definitely it has increase lotsa inconvenience but for non smoker, this is a good news. Maybe it’s time for the smokers to consider on quitting.
If you quit, you might even able to buy a new car. But can quitting cigarettes really buy you a car? Let’s do some calculation. A pack of cigarettes costs at least RM17 per pack and a smoker can can finish a pack easily within 1-2 days. If you do the math, where we calculate a pack a day and that’s would be an easy RM119 per week and it would be RM510 over the span of 30 days! With RM510, you can actually spent paying off a monthly car instalment for an Axia!
Say for example, if you have a net income of only RM2500, you would be down to only RM2000 after your cigarettes payout, and this amount of money is not sufficient enough for any savings after expenses. If you can remove off the cigarettes expenses, you are actually removing off at least RM500 from your monthly expenses. And this is also a move that’s healthy to both your body and family too.
If you don’t want to buy a new car, you can consider even for a holidays. Image with saving of the monthly of cigarette cost (RM510) and you accumulate for a year, it will save you at least RM6,205. With RM6,205, you can easily travel with another, twice a year, to neighbouring countries.
There is no better time to consider the quit as now more and more places will getting banned for smoking. So if you’re a smoker, would you consider such a quitting move?
