Not everyone is a fan of durian as it’s called King of Fruits for a reason. Not everyone can tahan the smell and I know few friends that are totally hating it!!

But did you know that underneath unbearable stink, the flesh of the durian (golden color one) is actually jam-packed with tons of good stuff.

Of course we are not recommending you to eat durian every day, but if you have them on-and-off and in moderate amount, it actually doing good to your body over time.

Here are some of the surprising benefits of eating durian:

1. Durian has tons of nutrient

Durian is actually rich in vitamin C, vitamin B complex, iron, pottasium and dietary fiber, it has all the nutrients your body needs to support your immune system, enhance red blood cells generation and yes, even give you healthier skin. Bet you didn’t know on this!

2. It helps you to sleep well

Not many knows about this but eating durian can actually enhance the quality of your sleep. Why? It’s because durian contains tryptophan, a type of amino acid, that can help to boost your melatonin hormone levels. The higher your melatonin level, the easier it is for you to fall asleep. If you have insomia at night, you know what to eat now la.

3. It’s a super ingrediet to make you super happy

Some people just happy to eat durian but on serious note, the flesh of the fruit contains the chemical that stimulates the neurotransmitter serotonin, which produces feelings of relaxation and happiness. No wonder everytime we eat durian, we have this awesome feeling (aside from the burp and fart)

4. It’s an Energy Booster

If you want a sudden boost of energy, durian is your answer. Durian contains substantial amount of carbohydrates, and consuming a couple of seeds would replenish low energy levels in a heartbeat. You can try it as pre-workout snacks as there are some people using it as pre-workout snack to boost energy. Just make sure you don’t burp when you’re working out though.
