AirAsia With another Round of Retrenchment Soon, Followed by AirAsia X
AirAsia, the famous low-cost airline may have another bad news as they will be laying off a few hundred employees due to the hard-hit by COVID-19 pandemic. The information which is provided by CEO Riad Asmat said that currently no announcement will be official for the 72 hours but they are facing a very tough time in this current pandemic period.
They have tried their best to sustain the business and this is the steps that they have to come down to in the final. According to the AirAsia management team, those affected staff would prived the affected staff the necessary assistance such as medical benefits, flight coupon redemption until year-end and the retrenched staff would be rehired once the airline has gone thru this storm successfully.
While on AirAsia X bhd (AAX), CEO Benyamin Ismail also announced that the long-haul carrier will look at a wider retrenchment exercise that will involve an employee from the technical side to the cabin crew. This will follow the last in, first out order basic.
