SST Will Be Implementing Soon But Do You Know That There Are Items That Will Be Exempted From SST

As we all know when GST was zerolized, SST will be introducing soon but do you know that there are items that are exempted from SST?

Here is the Items That Will Be Exempted From SST

SST-1 - News

As we all know that now all are talking about the sales and services tax (SST) but did you guys know that there are some items that are exempted from the SST? As per our Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, he has come out to announce on the direction of SST and most important thing is that he has announced that there are items that are exempted from SST.

On the same note, he made it clear the burden of  SST is much more lesser than what we had in GST, as the collection from the SST is much lower compared to the projected collection of GST.

So here are the some of items that will be exempted from SST

  1. Sardines
  2. Dairy Products
  3. Coffee
  4. Tea
  5. Chili / Tomato Sauce
  6. Grains
  7. Tofu
  8. Kaya
  9. Butter
  10. Bicycles
  11. Motorcycles (under 250cc)
  12. Construction Material (Brick, Sands and Cement)
  13. Medical Consultation
  14. Medicine
  15. Ambulance services
  16. Etc

Also at . the same, our finance minister has also announced some good news for fishermen and farmers, as he said that the purchase of fishing boats, tractors and fertilisers will be exempted from SST as well.

SST-2 - News

He added that the government had reviewed SST comprehensively so that it will impact the rakyat especially those who are having the lower income. [Update] The full list of proposed goods to be exempted from SST has been uploaded by the Customs Department on its website.
