Guess many of us are Maybank user and you need to take note of their new introduction for SMS TAC
You will no longer need to be verify using SMS TAC if your transfer is exceeding some certain amount through Maybank2U
What’s the amount? If your transfer amount is exceeding RM10K then you will not need to use SMS TAC anymore. Instead of SMS TAC, you will need to authenticate your transfer using their Secure2U.
This will be effective starting from July 23.
If you are wondering what is Secure2U?
This is a new digital security feature from Maybank where it’s offering a safer way to authorise transaction via Secure Verification & Secure TAC using your mobile app instead of using SMS.
If the above sounds complicated, then in short, instead of receiving the SMS for 6 digit PIN, you will now receive a notification through you Maybank apps and you just need open your apps and choose whether to Approve/Reject to validate the transaction.
Once you have approve, then you will be given a 6 digit TAC for you to enter on your Maybank transaction screen to complete the transaction
Before you can use for this new more secure services, you would of course need to register and you can just follow the below simple steps
- Tap on “SECURE2U” on the bottom right
- Just Follow the instruction on the screen (as below) to get yourself registered
Though this now only for transfer of RM10k but it’s just the matter of time for Maybank to replace the SMS TAC with this new and more secure approach. Better to start using now and familiarise it now!
