POS in Malaysia temporarily suspends the provision of road tax renewal services for private cars!
According to a statement issued by POS Malaysia, due to instructions from the Department of Land Transport (JPJ), post offices throughout Malaysia will suspend the provision of road tax renewal services for private cars. This policy will be carried out from February 23 to March 31, 2021.
A few days ago, the Malaysian Ministry of Transport allowed people located in the MCO area to be exempted from renewing their driving license and road tax. People who hold an overdue driver’s license and road tax can continue to drive on the road, but they must ensure that the car insurance is still valid.
It is important to note that the branch of the National Land Transport Bureau (JPJ) has also suspended the renewal service of the road tax for private cars. This policy includes the JPJ branch of the Urban Transformation Center (UTC).
The JPJs of the states currently implementing MCO (Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor) will only provide specific services. As for other states and territories, JPJ provides all services, except for updating the road tax for private cars.
