65 Yo Men Sits For Exam To Proof that Age is no Barrier in Knowledge pursuit
A 65 year old men from Seremban, Salman Ahmad is a living proof that anyone can do it if they put their heart and soul into it and despite his age, he is determined to sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) for the first time and he is among the 645 private candidates out of the 16,554 SPM candidates in Negeri Sembilan who began the examination.
Salman who is is also the former depute director of Tourism Malaysia who retired in 2012 said that the decision is made because he wanted to show to the youngster out there that age is not a barrier for those who wanted to acquire knowledge and achieve success. He has first took the Malaysia Certificate of Education (MCE) examination in 1973, all the subjects were in English, then he continued my studies at the Institut Teknologi Mara in the field of Public Administration.
Salman said that he wanted to sit for the examination last year but he has postponed it due to the Covid-19 pandemic and he even bought revision books since last year as his younger brother who is a teacher has guided him and he also underwent online training.
In the meantime, the father of two said besides taking Bahasa Melayu, he also took two other subjects, namely English and History, and intends to take the other subjects next year if he gets an excellent result in the 2020 SPM.
