Najib Must Pay RM1.69 Billion In Taxes To Government
Our former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was arrested and charged for a few times over the alleged wrongdoings he committed during this time on power. One of the things he has been accused of is failing to pay his taxes.
With the wealth he accumulated earlier, the judge ordered him to pay RM1.68 billion on taxes back to the Malaysian government on 22 Jul, by the High Court Judge Ahmad Bache after the taxes received from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB). The period for this accumulated amount are from 2011 to 2017.
This amount is seriously a huge amount and the Malaysian government had filed the suit through the IRB on 25 Jun seeking the total amount of interest, cost and other relief also. While Najib will be able to make an appeal to the Special Commissioner of Income Tax (SCIT).
