When Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin released the Special Assistance Package (PERMAI) on January 18, he announced that the discount of 1GB of free Internet data per day will continue until April 30, 2021.
In order to encourage people to work from home, the government and telecommunications companies cooperate to send 1GB of Internet data to mobile phone users for free every day. Telecommunications companies such as Digi, Celcom, Maxis, U Mobile, and TM will send 1GB of Internet data to users for free every day, but most telecommunications companies will require users to manually receive 1GB of free data every day.
The free 1GB Internet data is valid for 24 hours, but it can only be used for education and productivity, that is, it cannot be used to browse social networking and video sites.
The free 1GB internet data per day is not applicable to the following websites, Bigo, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, Tumblr, Twitter, WeChat, YY, DailyMotion, JOOX, Netflix, Viu, YouTube, Apple Music, Shazam, Smule, Sound Cloud, Spotify, SYOK, QQ Music, WeSing, Arena of Valor, Call of Duty, Free Fire, King of Glory, Legends of Runeterra, LifeAfter, Lords Mobile, Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Rise of Kingdoms.
Maxis and Hotlink users can open Maxis APP or Hotlink RED APP to receive free 1GB internet data. Digi Prepaid users can open *338*1*1# to receive free 1GB, while Digi Postpaid users can dial *238*1*1 to receive free 1GB.
U Mobile users need to send a mobile phone message to receive free 1GB of Internet data, that is, enter FREE1GB and send it to 28111. Celcom and XPax users can receive free 1GB internet data through Celcom Life APP. Unifi Mobile and Tune Talk users can also receive 1GB of free internet data through their respective apps.
