Another M’sian Made Malaysia Proud After Defeating World No 2 Player Viktor Axelsen on Badminton Championship

Malaysian althelete has done it again, after Lee Zii Jia beat world No.2 player Viktor Axelsen from Denmark in All England Open badminton Championship final where he defeated him in the first and last game. Other than this, there are also other Malaysian althelete who has won too in the past which areWong Peng Soon (1950, 1951, 1952, and 1955), Eddy Choong (1953, 1954, 1956, and 1957), Tan Aik Huang (1966), Hafiz Hashim (2003), and Lee Chong Wei (2010, 2011, 2014, and 2017).
Lee who is just 22 year old he managed to score the first round of 30 – 29, while only last round it is 21 – 9. While Lee also won against World No 1 Kento Momota last Friday, 19 March. He defeated the Japanese player in the quarter-final with scores of 21-16 and 21-19.
While Lee’s victory is worth celebrating, however, other Asian country such as China, South Korea and Taiwan had decided not to participate in the tournament due to Covid-19 restriction. But still, congratulation to Lee Zii Jia and with his success, our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also commented Lee on his victory too.
