Waze is indeed a good help on the road but…
Use Waze While Driving Can Get You Summoned!
Not really the case of using Waze but it’s when you holding your phone while you using your Waze. If you’re being caught doing that, you will be fined.
According to the New Straits Times, a driver in Subang Jaya was recently holding his phone and using the Waze app while driving and he was soon given a traffic summon.
The problem is not with him using the Waze application but it is because he is holding his phone while he is using the Waze apps.
According to Rule 17A of the Road Traffic Rules 1959, drivers using their mobile phones while driving can be slapped with a fine of up to RM300. So don’t be so ignorant and hold the phone when you’re using Waze, You should be putting it on the holder so that you can see it without holding the phone. RM300 is not a small amount!
It’s good to have this fine because it’s better to stay extra careful while you’re hand are on the wheels. If you don’t considered for yourself, you should be considerate to other people around you.
