Those Who Unable to Take Covid-19 Vaccine Will be Issued an Exemption Certificate
With the national Covid-19 immunisation programme are currently under progress, however some individuals who may not able to get their jab due to having some serious allergies or immunocompromised they will be exempted and government is planning to issue an official certificate to prove that they can’t take it due to some safety reason and not because they refuse to take the vaccine.
This was announced by Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin during a press conference after visiting Universiti Malaya Medical Centre vaccination centre yesterday. He added that this will be done in fairness to those who can’t take the vaccine.
He also added that the government is still refining the plan to issue digital vaccine certificates via the MySejahtera app and also working on providing information to WHO or other countries so that the certificate can be recognised worldwide. The Malaysian government will introduce a protection scheme which will provide compensation to any individual that suffered serious side effects after receiving the vaccine. The scheme will be announced sometime next Monday.
Khairy will also be the first person in Malaysia to receive the Sinovac vaccine which is the first batch of 100,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines are expected to arrive on 15th March 2021, followed by another 100,000 doses a few days later.
