The University of Nottingham Malaysia Might be Up for Sale Soon For Around RM500 Million
Bloomberg has reported that Boustead Holdings Sdn Bhd is in negotiation to sell their education providing property as Boustead Holdings Bhd is a Malaysian conglomerate company involved in plantation, property, pharmaceutical, finances, and other industries with a British origin back in the 1820s. While the University of Nottingham Malaysia is owned by Boustead on 66%, YTL owns 4%, and the remaining 30% is owned by the University of Nottingham in the UK.
Currently, there are discussions to sell the university are still in the early stages and there has no certain information regarding Boustead and YTL will proceed with the deal. The University of Nottingham Malaysia first opens their door to a student in 2000 after the Ministry of Education invited international education institutions to establish a campus in the country and with this 101-acre campus in Semenyih, which has grown up to 125 acres with 5,000 students from more than 85 different countries and University of Nottingham is the UK is among the top 1% of universities in the world too.
So what is the reason behind this debut of selling the University of Nottingham?
