It’s really a rare sight but a Dog Cries After Being Saved From Dog Meat Market
The female golden retriever, which strongly believed to be a stolen pet, had been spotted being sold by a vendor at a Chinese market known for its dog meat trade.
In order to save the dog, the animal lovers raised money to pay the dog meat vendor on the spot. News is that animal lovers from Kunming’s Sanhe Animal Protection Centre raised $2,310 (14,450 yuan) to buy the golden retriever as well as around 20 other dogs from the vendor.
The incident took place on April 1 at Kunming’s Xiaobanqiao Market.
The vendor told them these dogs will be sold to restaurants to make dishes. The vendor charged 60 yuan ($9.45) per kilogram. OMG … this is so bizzare!! How could people eat dog meat!!
The group decided to buy all of the dogs on the truck from the vendor, and all of them started donating money.
The footage of the tearing golden retriever was filmed at the animal hospital.
While many people thought the dog was crying tears of gratitude, but the real thing is that the director of the hospital Wang Zaigao said the dog had just undergone an optical checkup, which could be the cause of the tears.
The animal lovers and the vet have been trying to find new owners for the rescued pooches. According to volunteer Ms Xu, 17 of them have found adoptive families.
