Few days back the court has ordered Tealive for Closing down but good news as …
Tealive Remains Open Despite of the Injunction Charges
This doesn’t mean that the court case is not over but Tealive has announced that they will maintain status quo and they will work on the resolution once there is a further direction given by the courts.
We were doing some walkaround to see the Tealive and seems like their outlets are still very much alive amid a legal tussle between its operator Loob Holding Sdn Bhd and rival Chatime Taiwanese owner La Kaffa International Co Ltd.
Just when we think that we can no longer enjoy the Tealive bubble tea and now we are given the good news.
This closedown might have quite a significant impact as Loob has been operating 161 Tealive outlets in Malaysia and their closure will reportedly affect 800 staff. There would be a huge gap till fill for the 800 existing staff
For now (as according to The Star), Loob has filed an appeal to the Federal Court to reverse the ruling granted in favour of La Kaffa. This follows the Court of Appeal’s rejection of Loob’s application for a stay to keep its Tealive outlets open while it appeals a court ruling that prohibits it from operating a competing business to Chatime in Malaysia for two years.
So what do you think of this? A yay or a nay for you on Tealive still remains? Let us know on the Facebook comments.
