Starting Mid 2021, All School With 30Mbps will be Upgrade to 100Mbps, While 100Mbps Will be 800Mbps
On 15 December, The Ministry of Education’s 2021 Budget Committee, The Senior Minister of the Ministry of Education has announced in his summary that the government will start to increase the network speed of all schools in the MyGovNet plan from mid-2021 from 30Mbps to 800Mbps!
The Minister stated that the Ministry of Education has drawn up a strategy for strengthening digital education. This strategy mainly strengthens the network services of all schools across the country. In this plan, the government will start from next year (mid-2021) through the MyGovNet project provided by Mampu, to upgrade those schools that currently have 30Mbps Internet speed to 100Mbps; at the same time, those schools that currently have 100Mbps Internet speed, Will be upgraded to 800Mbps.
In addition, the Minister also stated that for schools in rural areas, the Ministry of Education will prepare 30Mbps broadband services for these schools through the installation of small satellite ground stations (VSAT). The installation of small satellite ground stations is expected to be completed in March 2021.
