Smart Tag And RFID to Launch Service In North Malaysia in Penang and Kedah
The North-South Expressway Company (PLUS) recently launched RFID services in toll gates in North Malaysia, including Penang and Kedah, so that people in these areas can use the RFID system to pass customs and pay tolls. In addition, Datuk Azman Ismail, the managing director of North-South Expressway Company (PLUS), also issued a statement that some of the SmartTAG lanes have been changed to RFID lanes.
The existing Touch n Go and Smart Tag can still be used in most of the North-South Avenue toll stations, but there are some small toll stations, and the RFID series will gradually replace Smart Tag.SmartTAG lanes at some toll gates with limited lanes have been changed to RFID lanes. In any case, these SmartTAG users can still take out the Touch n Go Card and use it in the Touch n Go lane.
