Sibu Teacher went Extra Miles To Teach Students with No Internet Outside Their House Gate
An earlier case shared regarding a teacher who went on extra miles with the online teaching classes. Well that for a student who has an internet connection, but how about those families who can’t afford so. A dedicated teacher in Sibu, she really makes sure that none of her students is left behind while all nationwide school stays closed until the end of the year.
Mujalifah Kassim, who teaches Bahasa Malaysia in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sibu Jaya where she has been carrying out online classes since the Ministry of Education (MOE) mentioned that all school will close from 9 November to 18 December. But there are students who don’t have electronic devices and internet access at home especially for those who are staying in the longhouses outside of the city.
Therefore, she who is also a mother of two decided that she will provide guidance to these students directly at their house. Her action caught a former student’s attention after she was seen marking and checking her student’s mark and book right in front of their house gate. While according to Cikgu Muja, she insisted to enter the house because it won’t take her long to check and mark on her student assignments.
So don’t we all just need more of these teachers? Because seriously, if a student needs a sort of smartphone or even tablet and including an internet package, it is really something hard for those B40 group of families in Malaysia. God Bless this good-hearted teacher for sure!
