Schoolmates Failed To pay Back Debt Amount of S$550K (RM1.68 Million) to Schoolmates But Still Held a Wedding Dinner of 5 Star Hotel
A latest viral news reported by Oriental Daily, where a former insurance agent who was accused of borrowing money from 8 secondary schoolmates which are round up to a total of $560,000 (RM1.68 Million) and he still had a grand celebration for his wedding in a 5-star hotel despite on failing to repay back the money to all schoolmates.
The friends who are furious and disappointed are now even working out with a debt collection agency to get back their hard earn money but the insurance agent’s friend claimed that he has involved in a scam case and his bank account was freeze thus he can’t pay them back.
Three of the secondary schoolmates who have told the media, that the 32-year-old ex-insurance agent with the surname of Chen has to borrow money from them 2 years ago and at first he did pay back but later on he started to make excuses and borrowing even more money. She even added that he even called and waited at the lobby of the apartment just to borrow money from his friend.
Later on, she even discovers that he even borrow from others which is more or less similar to her case, and in the end, in October, he admitted that he used that money to pay off his gambling debt and has no extra money to pay them. What comes to the shock to all of them is when they discover on Facebook that this friend who is owning them money held a wedding in a 5-star hotel in September while all the schoolmates which he owns money aren’t invited.
Later on, they even discover that Chen is no longer worked as an insurance agent 2 months back. Therefore, they hired a debt collection agency to met Chen to discuss how to settle the debt as Chen then claims that he is involved in an investigation of scams and all his bank currently freezes. Due to the safety of both parties and avoid any misunderstanding, a police report was lodged by this group of friends as currently, police will further investigate this matter.
That is really one wild story as a borrower of that huge amount and failed to repay back but still living in leisure life. Perhaps there will be more outcome from this case soon, let’s just wait for further updates on this huge friend’s debt collecting case.
