This mak cik knows the pain of students and she sells RM2 Mixed Rice to help out the student
A mak cik open up a stall named “Kedai Makcik Seringgit” in Kulim, Kedah have a really big heart. She understands the pain that the students having and selling really really really affordable mixed rice to help out.
The stall is opened by Noor Haliza Mohd Hashim, 44, and her husband, Mohamad Rozi Ishak, 48, since 2012 and it’s located in Jalan Pondok Labu, Kulim, Kedah.
“The main attraction is the budget price for a set of rice dish from as low as RM2, and the drinks are only at RM1, and I sell (at these prices) because I feel for the students who do not have a big budget for food,” she told Bernama.
“Customers may choose any one of the dishes and vegetables for RM2,” she said, adding that all drinks prepared at the shop, including iced Milo, iced tea, and iced Horlicks were priced at RM1 per serving …..

If you think Haliza is losing money by running this cheap mixed rice stall then you are dead wrong. Contrary to that, she actually makes a good profit where the low prices attracts more customer to her stall.
“I’m not losing money because if I was, I would have stopped this business long ago. I’ve been doing this for a long time and so many people are still coming to my stall.
“Also, I’m not too calculative when it comes to food, so long the price is reasonable and a lot of people can come and eat to their heart’s content,” she said.
Kedai Makcik Seringgit is open from 7am until 7pm daily.
