If you’re one of those (like us) that has missed the first round for the pilot registration then here is your second chance. Why? This is because Touch ‘n Go has just kicked off its second round of pilot registration and you can sign up now today.
In case you didn’t know, the RFID system is a replacement of the current SmartTAG system where instead of using a card reading unit, Touch ‘n Go will issue you with an RFID sticker that’s placed on your vehicle’s headlamp or windscreen.
This would be a new technology where the toll payments will be deducted directly from the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app instead of using your physical Touch ‘n Go plastic card and the value of the app can be topped up with your online banking or credit or debit card.
The RFID would be the new wave of technology and for this second round, Touch ‘n Go hopes to increase the number of RFID uptakes into the system and this will also help them to fine tune the user experience from pre-registration to tag activation.
But do take note that at the moment, not all the toll are accepting this RFID but it is only in pilot mode and the RFID covers selected highways in the Klang Valley and Greater Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) and 16 highway concessionaires.
So what do you need to do? If you’re interested, you can sign up, just register here. They will inform you by email when it’s time to book an appointment for installation. Touch ‘n Go is opening this up to a limited number of users, so you better act fast before they close the registration.
