Remember to Keep Your Traveling Receipt When Traveling For Personal Income Tax Deduction RM1000
As the government announced the extension of the Recovery Control Order (RMCO) to December 31, 2020, this means that Malaysians are not allowed to go abroad in 2020, and friends who want to travel can only come to Cuti-Cuti Malaysia.
In order to stimulate the domestic tourism industry, the government specifically provides a number of tax reliefs, including domestic travel expenses that can enjoy up to RM1000 income tax relief.
This tax relief is valid from March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. According to the “2020 Economic Revitalization Plan”, the deductible expenses are limited to accommodation expenses (the accommodation must have been registered with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture) and tourist attractions entrance fees.
Therefore, if there are friends traveling in China during this period, remember to put away the receipt, and you can deduct RM1000 when you file your tax return in 2021~
