Is North South Korea Now At Peace?
If you didn’t know, last Friday (27th Apr) was a historical moment for North and South Korea. Both arch rival countries took their first steps toward peace during the North and South Korean summit.
This could signals end of 68 Years old war
The historical moment started when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met South Korea’s President Moon Jae-In at the line that separates the 2 countries. Kim then stepped over the Military Demarcation Line and enter the South, first North Korean leader who ever do that. They then shake hands and Kim suggested Moon to cross into the northern side and they did just that.
On the Summit, both leader has signed Panmunjom Declaration for peace, prosperity and unification of Korean Peninsular. This agreement was to agree on the commitment of 2 countries to form nuclear free Korea and there was also talks to bring the end of the Korean War!
The leaders ended the summit with a dinner and a toast. South Korean Minah was honored the role of performing a song to end the summit with a Korean song called “One dream, One Korean”.
With these new steps towards new united Korea, this can be one of the most historical event of the millenium as both North and South looking to end their Korean war.
