Myvi Driver Dies After Hilux Beats Red Light and Crashes into Her at Full Speed Leaving Behind Her Daughter With Severe Injuries

A 41-year-old woman died in an accident at Jalan Temenggong Ahmad traffic light junction in Muar, Johor which involves six other vehicles at 7.46 am on 24 April. According to Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zaharudin Rasip, the victim who was identified as Norain Abu Samah died at the scene due to severe injuries on her limbs. Norain’s Daughter, Nur Nabila Alisha Mohd Zalisham, 19 in the front passenger seat suffered severe injuries while 14 other victims were not injured.
The early investigation found that the Toyota Hilux driven by Gui Chui, 69-year-old from Parit Jawa towards Muar town center was driving at high speed and he did not stop at the red light before crashing into the Perodua Myvi car. The Toyota Hilux then skidded and enter the opposite lane and collided with the other four vehicles. Blood and urine sample of the Toyota Hilux driver was sent to Chemistry Department for alcohol and drug screening. The case was then investigated in accordance with Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. The accident involved six vehicles, namely a Perodua Myvi, Nissan Grand Lavina, Nissan Urvan, Van Ford Spectron and two Toyota Hilux vehicles.
