The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has announced that IPT students in their campuses and University students from all over Malaysia except Sarawak are allowed to travel interstate back to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya starting from 7 May and return by 15 May. For students who wish not to go back to their hometowns will be allowed to remain in their campuses and universities. Students are only allowed to use these three modes of transport:

  • Their own vehicles
  • Their parents coming to fetch them
  • Buses prepared by their universities

While the total IPT student population numbers 1.3 million, the ministry said the movement of IPT students in conjunction with the Aidilfitri holidays is estimated to only involve the 103,994 students who are now on campus.
