MCMC Announce Free 1GB Daily Data Initiative Extend to 31 July 2021

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that the free 1GB daily data offer for productivity and learning usage will be extended to 31 July 2021 and the free 1GB data offer which was initially introduced during the Movement Control order was suppose to end on 30 April 2021.
According to the official statements, the 5 telcos, Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile, YES and Telekom Malaysia have agreed to the 3-month extension and the free data is intended to help people in the new norm and will be offered to all active subscribers on both postpaid and prepaid plans.
In case you missed it, the government is also providing a new phone subsidy of RM300 to households with school-going children under the Jaringan Prihatin program. The program has been allocated with an RM2 billion budget and it is scheduled to start in May. However, there are no details on how the redemption process work yet.
