KKM Warns Usage of Cotton Swabs May Cause Injuries To Your Ear
Many people use cotton swabs to clean their ears every time they feel uncomfortable after taking a shower. However, many domestic and foreign experts have repeatedly reminded that the use of cotton swabs to clean the ears is not necessary, and it may cause damage to the ears!
The official Facebook Page of the Ministry of Health of Malaysia also posted a post a few days ago to remind people not to use cotton swabs to clean their ears, especially when children have ear pain.
Many doctors have always reminded everyone not to use cotton swabs to clean ears. In fact, it is best not to use other things to dig ears except cotton swabs. Because this will push the earwax deep into the ear, causing hearing loss and even damage the eardrum.
In addition, many people always feel that there is a lot of earwax in the ears and need to be cleaned, but in fact, earwax is a substance secreted by the ears, which can sterilize and protect the ear canal. If it is cleaned up, it will cause damage.
Ears have a self-cleaning function, and many people do not need special cleaning in their lifetime. Because earwax will be discharged naturally over time. Earwax generally only appears in the external ear canal. But because people always use cotton swabs to clean up, they push the earwax deep into the ears, causing blockages and causing more problems.
