Khairy Announced that Malaysian Can Apply For Covid-19 Vaccination Via MySejahtera App Soon
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that the Covid-19 vacination will not be mandatory and Malaysian will need to sign up to get the jab but in voluntarily and willingness concept. And to provide more conveniences to all Malaysian, the MySejahtera all will soon include a sign-up feature for this purpose.
Currently, the vaccination are free for all Malaysians, but the government has yet to decide if the vaccination is free for foreigners. And for employers those who are unwillingly to pay for vaccinations on their foreign workers might be an obstacle for them. The government is aiming to vaccinate as many people as possible as we would still at risk if we leave out millions of foreigners.
The first batch of 1 million vaccines are expected to arrive in February 2021 and will be prioritized for frontliners and high risk groups including those who have non-communicable disease and chronic respiratory disease. While the next phase will involves 6.2 million vaccines which are due to arrive in April and May, as the government plan is to cover 82.8% of the population.
