Illi Najwa Marriage to India Hockey Has Becomes A religious Issue
The recent marriage of a Malaysian woman, Illi Najwa Saddique to the captain of the Indian Hockey Team somehow becomes a religious issue as Illi Najwa will be questioned over her religious status once she returns to Malaysia, according to Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Religious Affairs. Which the Deputy Minister’s statement came after the news about the couple’s wedding which went viral with several social media users alleging that the Malaysian woman had converted from Islam.
However, in a post by hmetro, Illi Najwa has expressed her apology to his family who was dragged along with this issue where she confirmed that her husband had converted to Islam since the end of last year and they got married on 16 December in a closed ceremony where she didn’t want to want her marriage to be recorded because they know the sensitivity that they would face, however, the video was shared out by media which they can’t control over it.
While on Harian Metro reported that the government would call Illi Najwa Saddique and her husband for clarification on their religious status when they return to Malaysia. But currently, Illi Najwa mentioned that she has no planning to return to Malaysia for the time being and she will stay with her husband in India as she is very happy there with her newlywed’s life with her husband.
