How to Apply for Temporarily Hawker License Offered by DBKL
As the pandemic is causing more and more folks in Malaysia to becomes jobless, with a total of 89,596 people were unemployed in Malaysia, an average of nearly 10,000 in a month. On the latest announcement made by the government where folks staying in Kuala Lumpur now are allowed to open a stall anywhere with simple rules that you are required to apply for a license from DBKL.
The Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) has one these applications for all food stalls which you all can start to apply to start November 15th onwards and you can visit https://elesen.dbkl.gov.my/ to apply. The application needs to attach a copy of the Makkah card, location map, photos of the stall area, and owner approval letter.
You can choose to sell stuff at your stall such as food, beverages, clothing, shoes, fruits, raw materials, etc. Items not allowed for sale include haircuts, electronic cigarettes, alcohol, massages, etc. While you can choose your operation hour from 7 am to 11 am, 11 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 7 pm, or 7 pm to 10 pm. When special attention is required, the approval of the Municipal Council is required from 7 pm to 11 pm.
