Chiba has high expectation in George Town where she said that George Town was selected for its “efficiency” in such projects. she said, reported Malay Mail and The Star.
“We want these projects to succeed, that’s why we chose George Town. We cannot afford to fail, and we believe Penang can deliver.
The projects is expected to kickstart in 2019. The very first pilot project will bring locals onboard to create a record of intangible heritage found in George Town. Chiba has also mentioned that
“The project will approach the local community to do an inventory of the intangible cultural heritage in the city, it will be a community-led project,” This will allow them tell their own stories and focus on what the local people consider as important”.
