Oh noooooooo ……
GAP closing down all stores in Malaysia!
It must be a challenging year for all the retailers. It’s just the beginning of the year and we see bad news everywhere.
Just a weeks ago, we one of the big clothing retailer, Factorie, has been shutting down. Now, apparently, another famous store had shut down.
The big news is that Gap announced via Facebook that they were going shut down their stores in Queensbay Mall and Pavilion KL.
At first we thought that it’s only GAP is closing down those under perform stores but now, they have announce that they will also be closing down The Gardens and 1 Utama store as well!!
Good news is that the store is currently running clearance sales to clear out all their stock but if you’re a fan of GAP, you will feel sad cause that’s gonna be the few last pieces of Gap clothing in Malaysia
So … apparently, the brand had actually shut down their other stores overseas for a very long time. CNN reported in September 2017 that Gap Inc., the parent company of both of the retailers, had announced that over 200 Gap and Banana Republic stores will be closing down due to bad sales.
According to reports, more and more millennials prefer to shop in more affordable stores like H&M and Forever 21 thus this closes the decline in their sales.
Even so, it’s sad to see one of the famous brand closing down in Malaysia. GAP has been one of the go to clothing stores that many visits for years.
