If you’re still on Streamyx, then this would be music to your ear because the Government is set to give a free Unifi upgrade to all of it’s user!
Previously this was announced and now, our Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith has officially announced that the government has decided to upgrade all Streamyx users to Unifi through Telekom Malaysia (TM) by March 2019.
But you guys who are still on Streamyx might need to be patience cause the service will be upgraded in stages, provided that users are located in areas accessible to Unifi services. Also another condition is . that the users are located in areas accessible to Unifi services.
BTW, you can check with the coverage checker, if you’re not sure if Unifi Fibre Broadband is available in your area, by searching for your address. Make sure you check this out!
Eddin stated that the shift from Streamyx to Unifi is an effort to tackle the high cost of Streamyx since the higher capacity with Unifi is being offered at a lower cost. This is realign with our new government motto on broadband services for lower price for higher speed. He also continues by saying the government has no plans to create lower Streamyx rates.
