by April 9, 2018

Yayyy to Free Stuff!!

Government has announce that we will get the Free RFID tags by early next year

rfid-tags - News

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi told The New Straits Times that the government is planning to distribute the radio frequency identification (RFID) tags by early next year.

You might see some RFID lane when you go through the toll sometime and it acts like SmartTag where you don’t need to open your windows to to tag your Touch N Go.

According to Ab Aziz, the government is currently in talks with Touch ‘n Go to distribute the RFID tags to all vehicles registered in Malaysia and it is for free!!

The RFID is so called as a more advanced version of the SmartTAG device and Touch ‘n Go card, where it’s using RFID tags will apparently make paying for toll faster and more effortless.

RFID is something that’s already used in the current market where it’s similar to having your groceries scanned by a barcode scanner at the supermarket but for this toll passing, it will scan the RFID tag via electromagnetic waves as you’re passing through the toll gate.

It will defo solved the issue of us sometimes stuck and with the new introduction of more advance RFID, it will becomes smoother to pass through the toll

Hopefully this will also solve the problem of drivers forgetting to top up their account, although we’re not holding our breath.
