EPF CEO Slammed By Netizen For Not Giving a Proper Answer During Interview of the i-Sinar Program
With a lot of Malaysian under the group of B40 and M40 which are currently facing huge financial difficulties right now as the earlier announcement of the i_Sinar program during the Budget 2021, where EPF has come up with their own requirement where this program will only be given to those who income has been reduced to 30% plus the EPF CEO himself, Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias in an interview with the TV3 which somehow ended some netizen feel so angry by the assumptions which he has made out.
Here is the video which makes some netizen really not happy with his answer.
The interview session started with the question of Let says 2 groups of categories people who experience a 30% reduction in salary and imagine Faiz with an income of Rm10,000 with 30% reduction so his salary has become RM7,000 which he is entitled to the i-Sinar program, While Khatijah with an income of rm2,000 where she suffered only 20% cut which left her only on an income of RM1,600 is not entitled to the i-Sinar program.
And the Ceo answer the Khatijah situation where if she has a reduction of 20% in salary she is not entitled to the whole i-Sinar program as she might have a side business of selling other stuff such as kuih and which his answer has enraged a lot of netizens plus some netizen even mentioned that they feel like wanted to punch the tv when they heard this answer. Plus, for the i-Sinar program, folks are required to bring bank statements to allow for the i-Sinar program.
However, on the recent statement issued in response to the case above, “For members who did not suffer a 30 percent salary reduction but still require cash to sustain their livelihood in this pandemic, the EPF said there is still latitude under Category 2 to consider applications from all members who are affected by Covid-19 and If you have suffered a reduction in income or salary and have the supporting documents to show for it, you are encouraged to apply on Jan 11, 2021. The EPF will still consider your application.
So perhaps we can all still give it a try and see how is the outcome first ya. But still, it is still a bit blurry here!~
