Do you realised that Adidas is actually Closing Down Their Physical Store?
Many of us just love to go to in-store to check out the latest shoes or fashion. Best part of shopping in store is that you will be able to touch, feel and try the product before purchasing it.
But you might not be able to do so for Adidas. If you’re an Adidas fans, you might want to pay close attention to the heart-breaking news that coming up next
In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted said that the company is planning to close it’s door for all of its stores in the next few years.
Why this decision was made? The decision was made to focus more on online sales, therefore shifting the whole operation online.
“Over time, we will have fewer stores but they will be better,” Rorsted told the Financial Times. Based on the report, adidas has previously said that it wants to more than double its e-commerce sales to €4 billion ($4.91 billion) by 2020.
The German sportswear giant generated around €1.6 billion in online revenue last year.
Wow …. that some scary online sales made!!!
He added: “Our website is the most important store we have in the world. It has priority when we hire, when we allocate our resources and when we build our infrastructure.
Currently Adidas has 2,500 stores worldwide and 13,000 additional mono-branded franchise stores
To be honest, if you ask me, I would still have those stores around. It’s a good way for us the consumer to touch and feel the product before purchasing it. Don’t want to be disappointed after purchased.
Hopefully Malaysia won’t be closing any!! I am finger crossing here …
