Delivery Driver Who Waited in His Car For New Orders Gets Fined Rm1,000 For Loitering
The issued summon with the reason of Loitering without any valid reason.
According to China Press, a 29-year-old deliveryman who is on duty, and he was waiting new orders in his car and later one he was fined Rm1,000 for loitering without any purpose by the police. The incident took place on Jalan Eye of Malaysia in Kota Laksamana, Melaka at about 6pm on 22 January. Where the victim Micheal Un Chee Wee who is eating inside his car while waiting for new orders. And suddenly three police officers approach him and asked for Un’s identification and issued him a RM1,000 compound for loitering.

Before the police officer issuing the compound, Un mentioed that the officers did not even ask for his employment letter at all. And the police officer only took some photo and immediately issued him the compound. And the reason of the summon were loitering for no reason, which make him feel dumb as he was working.
Un later wanted to pay the Rm1,000 fine on the day itself, but his cousin thought that the police’s reason for issuing the fine was unfounded. Therefore, Un sought help from the Kota Laksamana assembly person Low Chee Leong to help out. In the statement, Low also said that he understood the authorities are doing their best to ensure the public safety however he believes that the police might have abused their power in this particular incident.
