Covid-19: Malaysia 3rd Glove Factory Kossan in Klang confirmed with 427 employees were Diagnosed positive
The KOSSAN Rubber Industries Bhd has joined the list of glove makers which has workers infected with Covid-19 as the report of an outbreak of Covid-19 infections among the workforce of Top Glove Corp Bhd and Hartalega Holdings Bhd. According to TA securities Research, a screening test on 4 Dec which is then completed on 10 Dec where the company has 7,000 strong workforces has revealed around 427 positive cases with 8 locals and 419 foreigners at their K2 production facilities in Meru, Klang.
Currently, the group immediately stopped the whole operation in Meru to fully sanitize and quarantine all their current workers in the affected areas for 14 days. With this new case, then it will affect the overall 25% of the manufacturing output also.
The factory was closed for two weeks on December 4 and was thoroughly disinfected. The infected site has also been quarantined. The plant is expected to resume operations on December 20. The company’s management pointed out that 1,667 employees have arranged for a second inspection today and tomorrow. If all employees report negative, they will resume work.
