Covid-19: Anyone Returning to M’sia from Abroad Must Test Negative on Swab Test within 3 Days Before Arriving In Malaysia + 7 days compulsory quarantine
The government has just announced a new policy for those who return home, they must go through the Swab Test from abroad and if the result shows negative within 3 days of the time then they only need to be isolated for 7 days after returning home!
Senior Minister of National Defense Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that if people who come to Malaysia from abroad complete the nose and throat swab test (Swab Test) and test negative 3 days before arriving in Malaysia, the person will be allowed when arriving in Malaysia to serve the 7 days of compulsory quarantine will take place, instead of 10 days of quarantine.
In any case, if the public does not provide testing services in the relevant country, or if the testing abroad is too expensive to afford, they can also choose to return to Malaysia directly without first testing. However, once they return to Malaysia, they must be quarantined for 10 days.
The government also announced a few days ago that starting from December 14th, the quarantine period will be shortened from the original 14 days to 10 days for those returning to Malaysia from abroad and those in close contact with the confirmed patient.
In any case, according to the guidelines announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) a few days ago, the CDC estimates that reducing the quarantine period from 14 days to 10 days carries a “residual risk”, and there is still more than 1% to 10% possibility that Infects other people.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also recently recommended that if a person suspected of being infected is tested negative for coronary disease, the isolation period can be further shortened to seven days. However, for the seven-day quarantine period when the test result is negative, the remaining risk of continued transmission is 5% to 10%.
