Cameron Highland Hotels Offers Car Wash Services to Stay Afloat During The COVID-19 Pandemic Period
The four-star Copthrone Hotel Cameron Highlands at the hill station last week has transformed into the main porch of its premises into a car wash as to stay afloat and raise much needed revenue for the resort hotel. In conjunction with the latest Chinese New Year Holidays where they manage to organise the Copthrone 126 Drive Thru Car Wash and the Copthrone Cameron Highlands general manager Patrick Tee has mentioned that the occupancy rate at the resort has been below five percent which is unprecedented since the premises was rebranded into Millenium and Copthorne property in 2014.
They also siad that there are zeo occupancy at the resort which has forced the management to reduce their manpower and the resort has 150 employees and the management has maintained all its employee on full pay and only 30 percent of the total employees are requried to rport for work with the remaining being on paid leave. While the car was programme was held to keep the staff occupied and generate revenue where they have enven offering snacks and main dishes at one section of the car porch to earn incomes to cushion the resort’s expenses.
