A Datuk Customer Allegedly Refuses to Pay RM660 Bill for Luxury Seafood Platter After Ordering it at Pudu Restaurant
The Fatt Kee Roast Fish is a local restaurant located on Jalan Pasar in Pudu which is famous for its luxury dinner where you can find a large seafood platter consisting of flower crabs, scallops, green mussels, slipper lobsters, freshwater prawns, and fish head. Which the price of this platter starts from RM388 and can go up to RM799.
However in a Facebook post published last Friday, 11 December, Fatt Kee Roast Fish wrote that a customer refused to pay his bill after ordering the Luxury Dinner platter worth RM388, insisting that he had not ordered it in the first place. Which the incident took place around 8 pm on Wednesday, 9 December.
As the restaurant owner is always prepared to avoid such a situation to happens, therefore, they have sent a whopping of 60 closed-circuit television (CCTVs) camera to record order taking process at every table on the premises as if taking a wrong order can set back their daily revenue in huge damage due to the hefty cost of ingredients.
According to the restaurant, the customer began to make noise as the food arrives and eventually the lady boss come forward to deal with the customer as the waiter was being scolded by the customer for making the blunt order, which is then the customer fled the scene after the fracas where the restaurant boss even tries to stop them from leaving and insist that he pay the bill. As the seafood platter is not small and it has 9 different kinds of seafood in there.
Seeing that there was nothing they can do, the restaurant owner decided to just let the matter go, however in a now-deleted public post, the customer described the restaurant as a dishonest business, while adding, “I haven’t started eating and I was told to pay RM210 per person.” and the customer also added that the restaurant acted like a gangster and run by a gangster and making more claims that are filled with discrepancies towards the Fatt Kee Roast Fish.
As the customer who also claimed that he has made an order to pay RM210 per pax which is Rm1,260 in total is calculated based on a group of 6 people even the truth of the bill was just RM659.42. and he even mentioned that the restaurant serves up a big lobster which causes them to jump up and rejected them.
The netizen then comments on that some of his followers calling him Datuk while to protect the business from the attack, Fatt Kee Roast Fish’s owner has lodged a counter police report to serve as official documentation and the restaurant owner thanked netizen for the support as their business was affected badly by the Pandemic and now they have to deal with this unnecessary lawsuit and even after negotiating over a phone call, the Datuk still did not admit to any wrongdoing and the matter will be dealt with legal channels. As the Facebook post went viral over 4,100 shares and among the 1,700 comments a few netizens shared photos showing the so-called Datuk is dressed in a shirt bearing a political party logo.
