Pokémon fans in Malaysia have something exciting to look forward to this December! McDonald’s is bringing a special Pokémon Happy Meal collection as part of its international promotional campaign, giving children, Pokémon enthusiasts and longtime collectors another reason to visit their favourite McDonald’s restaurants.
Starting from 1 December 2026, the upcoming McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meal Promotion is expected to introduce a collection of 15 adorable miniature Pokémon-themed Happy Meal box collectibles, together with special Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) cards. With familiar characters such as Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander and Squirtle making an appearance, this is shaping up to be an interesting collection for fans of different generations.
The international campaign includes Malaysia in its December 2026 rollout, making it an exciting upcoming promotion to watch out for. Whether customers are buying a Happy Meal for their children, looking for a little surprise during lunchtime or hoping to add something special to their Pokémon collection, this collaboration offers a fun combination of food, toys and trading cards.
Even better, the campaign features several Pokémon favourites, so there should be plenty of excitement as collectors discover which characters they receive.
15 Pokémon Miniature Collectibles to Look Forward To
One of the biggest attractions of this upcoming McDonald’s collaboration is its collection of 15 different Pokémon miniature Happy Meal box collectibles.
Each design features a Pokémon-inspired appearance, with recognisable character details that make these miniature items fun to collect, display or share with fellow fans.
The 15 Pokémon characters featured in the international collection include:
- Pikachu
- Eevee
- Umbreon
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Bulbasaur
- Torchic
- Piplup
- Sprigatito
- Sobble
- Minccino
- Munchlax
- Weedle
- Espurr
- Rowlet
There is a nice mixture of classic Pokémon favourites and characters from more recent generations. Longtime fans will probably be excited to see familiar favourites such as Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur, while younger fans may be looking forward to collecting characters such as Sprigatito, Sobble and Rowlet.
The miniature designs also make the collection appealing beyond the usual Happy Meal experience. Instead of receiving an ordinary toy, customers can look forward to a themed collectible that can become part of a larger Pokémon display.
For parents, it could also be a fun little treat for children who enjoy discovering different Pokémon characters.
Special Pokémon Trading Cards Included
The excitement does not stop with the miniature collectibles. This international McDonald’s Pokémon collaboration also features a special collection of Pokémon Trading Card Game cards.
According to the promotional details, each collectible comes with two random Pokémon trading cards, giving customers another surprise to look forward to when opening their Happy Meal purchase.
Here are some of the highlights:
- 15 different promotional Pokémon trading cards.
- Two random Pokémon trading cards included with each collectible.
- Popular Pokémon characters featured in the card collection.
- Three special Happy Meal box designs featuring Pikachu, Umbreon and Torchic.
Having both miniature collectibles and trading cards makes this promotion particularly interesting. Customers who enjoy Pokémon merchandise will have two different collections to explore, while children can enjoy the excitement of discovering their cards and toys.
Of course, because the trading cards are randomly distributed, customers should not expect to receive a particular character with every purchase. Collectors may also come across duplicate cards, which can be a good opportunity to exchange them with friends.
Those who are serious about collecting should consider keeping their cards in protective sleeves to help maintain their condition.

Smart Tips for Collecting All 15 Pokémon Toys and Cards
For anyone hoping to complete the collection, a little preparation can make the experience more enjoyable.
First, check the launch announcement and visit participating outlets early once the promotion is officially available. Limited-edition Happy Meal collectibles can attract plenty of attention, especially when popular characters such as Pikachu and Eevee are involved.
Second, keep track of the characters and cards already collected. A simple checklist can help prevent unnecessary duplicate purchases and make it easier to identify which designs are still missing.
Third, protect the trading cards properly. Card sleeves or a small trading card folder can help prevent scratches, bending and other damage.
Another fun idea is to exchange duplicate cards with friends, family members or other Pokémon collectors. This allows everyone to work towards completing their collection without repeatedly purchasing Happy Meals just to obtain random cards.
Most importantly, remember to enjoy the promotion responsibly. There is no need to purchase excessive meals simply to chase a particular card or toy. The fun should come from the experience of collecting, discovering new characters and sharing the excitement with others.
Why Should Pokémon Fans Enjoy This McDonald’s Promotion?
There are several reasons why this upcoming McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meal collaboration deserves attention.
For families with young children, it offers an enjoyable way to make an ordinary meal a little more exciting. Children who recognise Pokémon characters will probably appreciate receiving a themed collectible alongside their food.
For longtime Pokémon fans, the collection brings together 15 different miniature designs and a special trading card collection. It is an opportunity to revisit familiar characters while discovering some of the newer Pokémon included in the campaign.
It is also a fun activity for friends and collectors. Comparing collections, exchanging duplicate cards and searching for missing characters can make the promotion more enjoyable than simply purchasing a meal.
The three special Happy Meal box designs featuring Pikachu, Umbreon and Torchic are another interesting detail that collectors may want to look out for.
With Malaysia included in the December international rollout, there is plenty of reason to keep this promotion on the calendar.
