As the year draws to a close, it is the perfect time to start looking for meaningful gifts for family members, friends, colleagues and, of course, yourself. For book lovers and bargain hunters in Malaysia, MPH Bookstores is welcoming the festive season with its Stairway of Stories year-end promotion, featuring member discounts, complimentary gifts with minimum spending and vouchers to make holiday shopping more rewarding.
Running from 1 November to 31 December 2026, this promotion offers shoppers an opportunity to explore books, discover new reads and prepare Christmas presents while enjoying special shopping perks. Members can enjoy up to 20% off, while qualifying purchases may come with free tote bags, lunch boxes, notebooks and vouchers.
Whether someone in the family loves novels, a friend enjoys personal development books or a child is always looking for another exciting story, a visit to MPH Bookstores could be a worthwhile addition to the year-end shopping list.
The festive period can be expensive, especially when there are presents to buy, celebrations to attend and plans to prepare for the new year. That makes promotions such as this one worth checking out, particularly for shoppers who want to give thoughtful gifts without overlooking their budgets.
Enjoy Up to 20% Off as an MPH Bookstores Member
One of the main highlights of the Stairway of Stories promotion is the opportunity for MPH Bookstores members to enjoy up to 20% off.
Books can make excellent presents because they offer something more lasting than many everyday gifts. A good novel can provide hours of entertainment, a practical guide can introduce useful skills, and an inspiring book can encourage someone to pursue a new interest. With the year-end holidays approaching, discounted books could be a smart choice for anyone preparing a gift list.
Instead of rushing through shopping centres at the last minute, shoppers can take their time browsing the shelves, comparing titles and choosing something suitable for each recipient. The member discount provides an additional reason to explore the available selection, particularly for those planning to purchase several books.
Before making a purchase, members should check the applicable discount conditions, including eligible titles and any exclusions. The advertised offer is up to 20% off, so the actual savings may vary depending on the items selected.
Those who are not yet members can check with MPH Bookstores about membership requirements and the terms for enjoying the promotion.
Free Gifts with Minimum Spending
Discounts are not the only attraction during the campaign. MPH Bookstores is also advertising complimentary gifts with minimum spending, including tote bags, lunch boxes, notebooks and vouchers.
These additional perks could make a qualifying purchase feel more rewarding, particularly for shoppers who already intend to buy books or other suitable items.
A tote bag is useful for carrying books, groceries or everyday essentials. A lunch box can come in handy for school, work or packed meals, while a notebook is practical for students, office workers and anyone who enjoys writing down ideas. Vouchers may provide further value, depending on their terms and conditions.
The important detail is that these gifts are offered with minimum spending. Shoppers should therefore confirm the required purchase amount, which gifts are available and whether different spending thresholds apply before completing their transactions.
It is also sensible to remember that complimentary gifts may be subject to availability. Anyone particularly interested in a specific item should check with the participating store rather than assume every gift will be available throughout the campaign.
For shoppers who are already planning their holiday purchases, these extras could be a useful bonus. However, it is best to choose items that are genuinely needed instead of spending more than intended simply to qualify for a free gift.
Find Thoughtful Christmas Gifts for Everyone
Choosing Christmas presents can be challenging, especially when shopping for people with different interests. Fortunately, books offer plenty of possibilities, from entertaining fiction to practical learning materials and inspirational reads.
For a friend who enjoys getting lost in a story, a popular novel might be a suitable choice. Parents and relatives who enjoy learning something new may appreciate books about personal development, hobbies or everyday life. Younger readers could enjoy age-appropriate stories that encourage their imagination and help develop their reading habits.
Books can also be suitable gifts for students, teachers, colleagues and people who prefer quiet activities at home. A carefully selected title can show that some thought has gone into choosing the present, rather than simply buying something at the last minute.
Shoppers can also consider pairing a book with a notebook or another practical item to create a more personalised gift, subject to the products available at the store.
The advantage of shopping during the MPH Bookstores year-end promotion is that customers can explore gift ideas while looking out for eligible discounts and complimentary items. Instead of visiting several different shops for individual presents, they may be able to find suitable options for multiple people in one place.
Make the Most of the Year-End Shopping Season
The promotion runs for two months, giving shoppers time to plan their purchases rather than leaving everything until the final days before Christmas.
November can be a good time to start preparing a gift list, compare prices and identify the titles that different recipients might enjoy. Shopping earlier may also help reduce the stress associated with crowded stores and last-minute decisions in December.
Before heading out, shoppers can decide how much they intend to spend, list the books or gifts they need and check which offers are relevant to their purchases. This simple preparation can make it easier to distinguish genuine savings from unnecessary spending.
Members should pay attention to the advertised discount, while shoppers hoping to receive complimentary gifts should verify the minimum-spend requirements. It is also worth checking whether vouchers have expiry dates, restrictions or minimum redemption amounts.
These details matter because the best bargain is not always the item with the biggest advertised discount. It is the purchase that provides good value and serves a genuine purpose.
For regular readers, the campaign may also be a suitable opportunity to stock up on books they have been meaning to read. For parents, it could be a chance to introduce children to more reading material. For anyone who enjoys giving thoughtful presents, it offers another place to explore before the festive season gets too busy.
Shop In-Store or Online at MPH Bookstores
Another convenient feature of the campaign is that shoppers can visit MPH Bookstores or browse online through the official website at mphonline.com.
Those who prefer shopping in person can explore the available selection, browse different categories and choose gifts after looking through the titles. Visiting a physical bookstore can be particularly enjoyable for readers who like discovering books they did not originally intend to buy.
Online shoppers, meanwhile, can browse from home and look for suitable titles without having to travel to a shopping centre. This option may be useful for busy families, working adults and people who want to begin their holiday shopping early.
MPH Bookstores has also encouraged shoppers to scan the QR code in its promotional announcement to view the gift e-catalogue. The catalogue is worth checking when planning purchases, as it may help shoppers explore the featured gift selection and prepare their shopping list.
Before ordering online or visiting a branch, customers should verify the promotion’s applicable terms, participating products and availability. They should also check whether the advertised member discounts and complimentary gifts apply to online purchases, physical stores or both, as the precise conditions have not been specified in the announcement.
