If you enjoy buying fresh seafood for the family but often find yourself checking the price tag twice before putting it into the trolley, there is a limited-time offer worth knowing about this week. The Food Merchant is marking the opening of its Solaris Mont Kiara outlet with a special promotion on Norwegian Fresh Atlantic Salmon, giving shoppers the opportunity to pick up whole salmon at RM49.99 per kg.

The promotion runs from 8 to 11 October 2026, so shoppers have only a few days to take advantage of the offer. It is available exclusively at The Food Merchant Solaris Mont Kiara, making this a particularly interesting deal for residents in Mont Kiara and nearby neighbourhoods who are looking for fresh ingredients at a more attractive price.

For households that regularly cook salmon, this could be a good opportunity to stock up, plan a few home-cooked meals or simply try something different without spending quite as much as usual.

A New Food Shopping Destination in Solaris Mont Kiara

The Food Merchant Solaris Mont Kiara is opening its doors with this salmon promotion as part of its launch. New shop openings are always worth keeping an eye on because they often come with introductory promotions designed to encourage shoppers to visit and explore the store.

Rather than offering a small discount on a single prepared product, this particular deal focuses on Norwegian Fresh Atlantic Salmon Whole, priced at RM49.99 per kg. For anyone who enjoys preparing salmon at home, buying a whole fish can also provide plenty of flexibility when it comes to meal planning.

Salmon can be used in all sorts of dishes, from simple pan-fried portions and oven-baked fillets to pasta, salads, rice bowls and family dinners. With the promotion available for several days, shoppers can decide how they want to use their purchase rather than having to make a last-minute decision.

Norwegian Fresh Atlantic Salmon at RM49.99/kg

The main attraction is straightforward: Norwegian Fresh Atlantic Salmon Whole for RM49.99 per kg.

The offer is described as a Merchant Selection promotion and is available for a limited period from 8 to 11 October 2026. As with many fresh-food promotions, availability can depend on stock, so shoppers who have their heart set on getting the salmon may want to visit earlier rather than leaving it until the final day.

For families, salmon can be a useful ingredient to have in the kitchen because one purchase can potentially be turned into several meals depending on the size of the fish and how it is prepared. It can also be a practical choice for shoppers who prefer preparing meals at home rather than eating out every time they want a seafood dish.

At RM49.99 per kg, the promotion gives shoppers a chance to consider salmon for their weekly meal plans while taking advantage of the opening offer.

Why This Deal Is Worth Checking Out

There are several reasons why this promotion could be worth a visit.

First, it is a limited-time opening promotion, so there is a specific window to enjoy the offer. The deal is only available from 8 to 11 October 2026, meaning shoppers should not assume the same price will still be available after the promotion ends.

Secondly, the offer is focused on fresh Norwegian Atlantic Salmon rather than a processed or ready-to-eat product. This gives home cooks more freedom to decide how they want to prepare it.

A whole salmon can also be useful when cooking for a family or when planning several meals. Depending on the size, shoppers can portion the fish according to their needs and use different cuts for different recipes.

Thirdly, a new food store is an opportunity to discover another place for grocery shopping. Even if shoppers visit primarily for the salmon promotion, they can take the opportunity to look around Solaris Mont Kiara and see what else The Food Merchant has available.

Turn the Salmon Into a Weekend Meal

One of the easiest ways to enjoy a promotion like this is to turn it into a family meal.

A whole salmon can be seasoned simply with salt, pepper, lemon and herbs before being baked in the oven. For something more Asian-inspired, it can be paired with soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Salmon also works well with rice, vegetables, potatoes or a fresh salad, making it easy to create a complete meal around the main ingredient.

For families with children, salmon can also be prepared in smaller portions and served alongside familiar sides. Alternatively, leftovers can be used for sandwiches, salads, pasta or rice bowls the following day.

That is part of the appeal of buying fresh ingredients during a promotion. Instead of spending money on a single meal outside, shoppers can turn the ingredient into a meal that can be enjoyed by several people at home.

Remember the Membership and App Rewards

There is another reason to pay attention when visiting The Food Merchant. Shoppers are encouraged to join their membership and download their app to access exclusive rewards.

For regular customers, membership programmes can be useful because they may provide additional benefits beyond a one-off promotional price. Anyone planning to shop at The Food Merchant more frequently may therefore want to look into the membership and app while visiting the new Solaris Mont Kiara outlet.

The salmon promotion itself is the main attraction this week, but checking the available member rewards could make future visits more worthwhile too.

Plan the Visit Before the Promotion Ends

Because the salmon offer is only running for four days, it is better to plan a visit rather than waiting until the promotion has nearly finished.

The deal begins on Thursday, 8 October 2026, and ends on Sunday, 11 October 2026. That gives shoppers both weekday and weekend opportunities to visit.

Weekend shoppers may find it convenient to combine the trip with other errands or a meal around Solaris Mont Kiara. Those who prefer shopping earlier may want to visit near the start of the promotion, particularly because fresh seafood promotions can be subject to availability.

It is also worth remembering that the advertised price is RM49.99 per kg, so the final amount paid will depend on the weight of the whole salmon selected.

A Good Opportunity for Seafood Lovers

Not every grocery promotion needs to involve a huge discount to be useful. Sometimes, a good price on an ingredient that people already buy regularly can make a noticeable difference to the household food budget.

The Food Merchant’s opening promotion at Solaris Mont Kiara gives seafood lovers a reason to visit, particularly those who enjoy cooking salmon at home. With Norwegian Fresh Atlantic Salmon Whole offered at RM49.99 per kg for a limited period, shoppers can consider adding fresh salmon to their meal plans while the promotional price is available.

The new outlet also gives local shoppers a chance to explore another grocery destination in the area, while membership and app rewards may provide additional benefits for future purchases.

For anyone living around Solaris Mont Kiara, this is a simple deal to keep on the shopping list this week. Just remember that the promotion is only available from 8 to 11 October 2026, and the offer is exclusive to The Food Merchant Solaris Mont Kiara.

If fresh salmon is already on the family’s menu, this could be a good time to pick some up. If it is not, the promotion might just be the excuse needed to try a new salmon recipe at home.
