If you enjoy creating videos and are always looking for new ways to show off Malaysia from a different perspective, there is an interesting creative challenge worth checking out. DJI Malaysia has officially launched the DJI Osmo 360 II | 360° Your Way Creator Challenge, inviting creators to capture their own view of Malaysia using a DJI Osmo 360 series camera.
This is more than just another social media challenge where participants upload a quick video and move on. The idea behind the campaign is to encourage creators to turn everyday Malaysian experiences into something worth watching, whether that means exploring local heritage, enjoying an outdoor adventure or simply stopping by a favourite mamak stall or pasar malam.
Even better, there are prizes up for grabs, including a DJI Osmo 360 II Adventure Combo as the grand prize, RM200 cash prizes for the top creators in each theme and DJI merchandise for selected consolation winners.
For anyone who already owns a compatible DJI Osmo 360 camera, this could be a good opportunity to put it to proper use while potentially winning something along the way.
Three Ways To Tell Your Malaysia Story
The campaign has three main creative themes, giving participants plenty of room to choose something that fits their interests.
The first is #MalaysiaCultural, which focuses on the country’s multicultural heritage, urban landmarks and natural scenery. Malaysia has no shortage of interesting locations and cultural experiences, so this category could be particularly appealing to creators who enjoy travelling, sightseeing or documenting local traditions.
Instead of simply recording a conventional travel video, the 360-degree format gives creators the opportunity to show an environment from a much wider perspective. A busy city centre, historic location or beautiful outdoor landscape can potentially become much more immersive when filmed in 360 degrees.
The second theme is #360ontheMove. This one is aimed at people who prefer action and movement, with sports, cycling, running and road trips among the suggested content ideas.
This is where the stabilisation capabilities of a 360 camera can become especially useful. Whether travelling along a scenic road, cycling around town or taking part in an outdoor activity, participants can create footage that feels much more dynamic than a traditional stationary video.
Then there is #MalaysiaLifestyle, which is perhaps the easiest category for everyday creators to relate to. Think mamak stalls, city walks, local food stops and pasar malam experiences.
There is no need to travel to a famous tourist attraction just to find something interesting to film. Some of the most recognisable parts of Malaysian life happen during ordinary evenings out with friends or family. A lively food street or pasar malam can make a surprisingly entertaining subject when captured creatively.
How To Join The DJI Creator Challenge
Taking part is relatively straightforward, although participants will need a DJI Osmo 360 series camera to create the required video.
First, choose one of the three campaign themes that best matches the content. After that, record a dynamic video that is under 60 seconds in length.
Once the video is ready, upload it publicly to one of the participating social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or XiaoHongShu.
Participants then need to include the required campaign hashtags, namely #360YourWay, #DJIOsmo360II and #MyMalaysia360, together with the relevant participant theme hashtag, such as #MalaysiaCultural, and tag DJI Malaysia.
The public posting requirement is important, so creators should make sure the post can actually be viewed publicly rather than uploading it privately or restricting access.
Do Not Miss The Two-Phase Structure
One of the more interesting parts of this campaign is that it is split into two phases.
Phase 1 runs from 3 September to 3 October 2026. During this period, participants need to post at least one qualifying video to secure their qualification for the next stage.
Then comes Phase 2, from 4 October to 3 November 2026. Participants who have successfully taken part during Phase 1 will unlock unlimited submissions during this second stage.
That makes it worthwhile not to leave participation until the last minute. Getting a qualifying entry submitted during Phase 1 does more than simply put a creator’s name into the campaign. It also provides access to the opportunity to submit more videos during Phase 2.
For creators who enjoy experimenting with different filming ideas, that could be a useful advantage. Instead of relying on a single video, they can potentially explore different locations, themes and storytelling styles once unlimited submissions are unlocked.
What Can Participants Win?
The prizes certainly make the challenge more tempting.
The Main Grand Prize has one winner, who will receive a DJI Osmo 360 II Adventure Combo.
There will also be a Top 3 Award for each theme, with each selected creator receiving a RM200 cash prize. Since there are three themes, that means several creators have the chance to receive a cash reward based on their creative work.
There are also 10 consolation winners, who will receive DJI Adventure Merchandise consisting of a water bottle and hat.
According to the campaign information, winners will be selected by an official judging panel. The judging will consider factors including creativity, visual quality and relevance to the selected theme.
The winners are expected to be announced in November 2026 through DJI’s official social media channels.
Why Should Malaysians Give This A Try?
For existing DJI Osmo 360 users, the biggest reason to join is simple: the camera is already there, so this campaign provides an extra reason to take it outside and start creating.
There is also no need for every entry to look like a professional commercial. The three themes are broad enough to cover everything from cultural discoveries and road trips to everyday food and lifestyle experiences.
The challenge could also be a useful excuse to explore Malaysia with a camera in hand. A normal weekend outing could become content for the campaign. A cycling trip, family day out, city walk, food hunt or short road trip could all potentially provide material for an entry.
For aspiring content creators, competitions like this can also encourage experimentation. A 360-degree camera changes how a video can be planned because the creator does not have to think only about what is directly in front of the lens. Movement, surroundings and the viewer’s perspective can all become part of the story.
And, of course, there is the chance to win something worthwhile. The grand prize is particularly appealing for anyone who has been considering getting into 360-degree content creation, while the RM200 theme awards and merchandise prizes offer additional reasons to participate.
Most importantly, participants are not simply being asked to promote a product. The campaign is centred around showing Malaysia through the creator’s own eyes. That leaves plenty of room for personal style and imagination.
So, if a DJI Osmo 360 series camera is already sitting in the camera bag, this is a good time to take it out. Think about what makes a favourite Malaysian place, activity or everyday moment interesting, turn that idea into a short 360-degree video and get the first qualifying submission posted before the Phase 1 deadline.
The DJI Osmo 360 II | 360° Your Way Creator Challenge runs from 3 September to 3 November 2026, with Phase 1 required for participants who want to unlock unlimited submissions in Phase 2. Before entering, participants should check the official campaign post and its latest terms for the complete requirements.
